It has been a quiet start of the weekend. As the weather gradually changed from a sunny one to a rainy afternoon, I wasn't able to do much during the day. I just kept myself occupied with cleaning around the yard before the rain sets in and also washed our winter garments but have them dried inside the house.
This is parol, or a Christmas lantern in Filipino. When I was younger, it used to be commonly shaped like a star, to symbolize the star in Bethlehem. Through the years, creativity and craftsmanship transformed parol into various shapes and sizes. More interestingly, manufacturers adorn them with colorful lights which switch on and off in different sequences couple with playing Christmas tunes.
