Last nights game was held up for fifty-five minutes due to a power cut or 'Fai Dap' as we say in Thailand or 'brownout' as its known in the Philippines or they could have been simply looming for some 50p coins for the meter. However, it didn't affect the result as Portsmouth came out the winners after a great fightback against a very spirited Harrogate Town who scored a nice early goal. Thankfully no one listened to me and almost everyone chose Portsmouth with a few getting the correct 1-2 scoreline. Details at the end.
And it's back to the FA Cup first round we go again tonight with a 'top quality' game between Yeovil, who have dropped down to the National League (5th tier) in the last few years which is where Hartlepool also reside. Both godforsaken little towns. I remember a few years ago Leeds having to make the trip down to Yeovil in the League on a Thursday night in the freezing cold, a round trip of over 750 miles. Ahh, the joy of being a football supporter!!
'Interesting' Fact: The winner of an FA Cup first-round game wins £38,000
Simply write the name of the FIRST GOALSCORER and the CORRECT SCORE as a comment. Competition closes 5 minutes before kick-off of the first game which is 19.45 GMT/UTC
In the first goalscorer competition, own goals do not count. In the correct score competition, it's the score after 90mins. Extra time and penalties do not count and the pot for each competition will roll-over if there is no winner. If more than one person chooses the same first goalscorer or correct score, the prize is shared and everyone gets a little upvote! It seems I also need to add, one entry per person. Don't forget the new rule that only people with a rep of 45 or above are eligible to enter unless they have been approved.
And the winners were....
