The Scaly-breasted Munia is a native bird of tropical Southeast Asia. It is also called spotted munia. Its name is based on the distinct scale-like feather markings on the breast and belly. I finally saw them making a nest in the tree, near my house. In the late afternoon, I often saw them making stops on the twig for quite some time. It has been a common bird that lives around and I always wanted to shoot them. They are gregarious and often colonial seed-eaters with short thick but pointed bills. Munia is also included as a social bird and may sometimes roost with other species of munias
