Hi guys and thanks for stopping by today!
Normally Tuesday’s are ladies Bible study. For me though, it was not. I really didn’t want to miss but I had today before the rest of the week is work, to try to figure out the project I’ve been working on. Unfortunately, it’s still not complete and may require some additional steps. So I didn’t go figuring that maybe I could get it completed this last off day before my work week begins. Not to be.
We did venture out afterwards to mail the coffee I roasted yesterday, to my customer and to go get a few items from the local grocery that I really needed. After that, it was time for a hike.
We opted not to take the snowshoes today as it had rained yesterday. We did however take our ice cleats just in case. Turns out that they were very much needed. The top end of our road is extremely dicey and I would never have made it up without them.
@silvertop putting his on. Hiking in slippery, slushy snow with cleats is an arduous task! Especially when you’re going uphill! Add in the fact that there are places where snowshoes would have been the best choice, it just takes it out of you. We made it to the bench at Bear Hollow and sat to rest. The picture doesn’t do the view justice, but it was a nice place to rest for a bit.
At that point, we decided to turn back and head for home. We were both tired to begin with, and honestly, I could have laid down and gone to sleep on any one of the mounds of moss in the area.
Once home, it was an Irish cream mocha for me and a latte for @silvertop.
@actifit-lamb and company did not go today. They were much too happy romping on the waterbed. Looks like I may need to figure out some motivation for them!
I’ll leave you with the view out towards Bellingham Bay, way out on the horizon.
