Hey everybody and thanks for stopping by!
Oh, the joy of Saturday! No real schedule means catching up on sleep is possible.
Once up and dosed with coffee, I started working on creating the song sheets for the congregation for tomorrow’s Palm Sunday service. Since we are leading via Facebook live, I want to ensure that the congregation has the words so they can sing praise along with us. As I was working on those ( I am a multitasker at heart apparently) we were joining in the Saturday silvergoldstackers community chat. It was good to chat with our friends. After about 45 minutes, we needed to go as the music for tomorrow needed a run through.
Around 2:30, we headed out for our hike with Jan.
It was a cloudy day, and it seemed like it might rain any moment, but it never came to pass. @actifit-lamb and company were along for the hike. As you can see from the picture, we stopped at the bench along Bear Hollow trail so the could get out and play. They went everywhere, lol. Wellington instigated a tree climbing contest with his sisters; Walter wanted to be ‘King of the Post’-there was no room to share that space with anyone, lol! Winchester got his sister to sit on the stone above his head and @actifit-lamb and Winston chose the bench to play on. He’s still in awe of the forest.
We found the trail a bit churned up along Slumbering Bear trail. We have quail here that will do that looking for bugs and whatnot, but this was not done in that fashion. It was much more aggressive and deeper and closer together than a quail does. Got me to thinking about bear being around. They would be looking for grubs at this point and the trail isn’t called Slumbering Bear for nothing! ‘Tis time to be alert in the forest!
I found this one lone mushroom poking it’s head out of the crumbling leaf debris left over from fall.
