Let it rain, let it rain!!!
While my Actifit friends in other parts of the world (ie not in the arid Southwest) might groan when they see an overcast sky with gray clouds on the horizon, here it was a welcome prelude to some much needed rain.
The weather made the temperatures about 20 degrees cooler than usual and the wonderful showers and breeze were so comfortable and made it feel like I was running back in SD or New England.
Alas, the clouds parted and the typical bright AZ sunshine returned and with it a warm afternoon for my long walk. Oh well, at least I had a really good run at a good pace so a positive training day ad I look forward to (I hope) a half-marathon up in NE Arizona in a couple of weeks (just have to be positive the state won't reimpose more stupid covid restrictions).
My evening walk was later than usual and a long one
since the gym is closed. Nice to see the sun setting as I headed down the hills towards home with the fluffy clouds glowing in the evening sky.
Hopefully the local fireworks won't be too noisy tonight as Lulu has always been frightened by them and lightning.
Have a safe and happy 4th.
